HOURS Update – See you at ArtWalk on Oct. 27!
GREETINGS! – I’ve had to juggle some appointments and won’t be able to have open hours in my downtown shop this week before leaving town for a week of school visits. Apologies for any inconvenience! I’ll be back for the Fall ArtWalk, Saturday, Oct. 27 from 5-8. Hope to see you then! :0) (PS – My little table at the Beaufort Emporium is “open” every day! My Etsy shop is on vacation mode until late next week.)
Upcycled Ornament Fun!
You don’t need a big crowd to do some big-time creating…
Many thanks to Karen Erwin and Kim Poovey for coming to my “Upcycled Ornament” Mixed Media workshop at Coastal Art Supply in downtown Beaufort on Saturday.
Look what they made!
BEAUTIFUL ornaments!!
The recipe for these included:
–Vintage brass file cabinet label holders
–Pre-loved Postage Stamps from England (various ages)
–Vintage/Antique Texts, including a Youth’s Companion magazine from 1891 and a school Christmas program booklet with songs and plays from 1932
–Vintage and antique lace, including some 100-year-old lace from London
–Vintage beads or charms, including these fun German frosted beads with gold stars
–Goldtone swirly hooks
–Art board, inks, colored pencils
–Imagination, Heart, Soul
Here’s the one I made to demonstrate the steps, though these two creatives didn’t need much in the way of guidance!
I’ll make up some more of these one-of-a-kind ornaments to put in my Etsy shop and in Beaufort Emporium for the holiday season. Cheers!
FIRST FRIDAY! And October Hours…
***WEATHER UPDATE – We will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 11, because of the anticipated tropical force visit by Michael. Thank you!***

Remember to sign up for my mixed media ornament workshop for Oct. 13. :0)
I’ll be in and out the rest of the month… but shoot me an Etsy convo or an email if you need to contact me! Adding lots of items to the shop each week… HAPPY OCTOBER!
Upcycled Ornament Workshop – Join Us!
It might still feel like summer, but technically, it’s fall – and the holidays will be here before we know it! Kick the season off with a fun afternoon playing with vintage finds and creating with new friends. Folks from my spring mixed media workshop at Coastal Art Supply (click here for their contact info) asked for more, so I’m offering an Upcycled Holiday Ornament Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
All materials provided, including vintage postage stamps, antique ribbon, vintage text, vintage brass file cabinet label holders, vintage beads and charms, and vintage clock chain! Participants will learn collage tips and how to work with jump rings.
Make something for yourself, or to check off a name on your gift list! Sign up at Coastal Art Supply in downtown Beaufort, SC, or contact me for more info. :0)
