For the writer who loves a little dangle of history (& May/June shop update)….

Antique pen nib earrings with Swarovski crystals… available at The Beaufort Emporium (Beaufort, SC) and soon in my Etsy shop.

Happy Almost-Summer! I’ve been enjoying making earrings with antique pen nibs (many 100+ years old) and Swarovski crystals, no longer being produced as components for the wholesale trade. These pictured have sterling hooks and fun vintage links as well. They’re available at The Beaufort Emporium in downtown Beaufort, SC.

I’ll list them soon in my Etsy shop, which is currently taking a little break. See you back there in mid-June-ish! Feel free to send an email or a message through Etsy if you need to reach me before then. Take good care, Robyn

Hobbled/Hopeful July/August Update….

Greetings! After a follow-up at the orthopedist’s office, I was able to give the crutches the boot – :0) – but I’ll be IN the boot until the end of August. I’m only able to work on a limited basis in coming weeks, but I’ve re-opened my Etsy Shop online.  (The 10 percent off no-coupon-needed sale for July is still on!) Open Studio hours will resume in earnest for fall, beginning with First Friday downtown, Sept. 6, 5-8 p.m. (For next week’s First Friday, Aug. 2, come celebrate The Beaufort Emporium‘s 3rd Birthday!! 905 Bay Street. Cupcakes and nice give-aways!! I’ll be there, happy to mingle at ground level. ;0) )

Psssttt…. artsyletters is the “Spotlight Business” for First Friday, March 1!

This Friday, March 1 from 5 to 8 p.m., downtown Beaufort celebrates the 5th anniversary of FIRST FRIDAY!

Kick off March with a “Stop and Shop” evening in downtown Beaufort this week. Thanks to the hard work of many, spearheaded by Mary and Eric at Thibault Gallery, FIRST FRIDAY is celebrating its 5th anniversary. (Thibault Gallery is, too – go by and give them some love!)

I’ll be hanging out at the clock downtown with Rhonda and Bernadette from the City of Beaufort. Come by and say hello! And then go check on Jeff, who will be minding the store at my studio at 811 Bay Street upstairs, with help from the wonderful Kim Poovey. Need some “literary art with a vintage vibe”? We’ve got you covered with my handcrafted gifts for readers and writers. Many of my items are also available at The Beaufort Emporium – be sure to enjoy the unique gifts and treats you can find there, seven days a week!

Enjoy an evening of strolling, entertainment, refreshments, catching up with old friends and making new ones – and maybe a little local shopping and dining! (If it sprinkles, we won’t let it dampen our spirits. It will just help green up our beautiful town for March.) See you Friday evening!

artsyletters lands at The Beaufort Emporium!

JULY GREETINGS, Continued…

While I will actually be closed this week (July 19-20) because our kids are visiting, I’m delighted to share that you can now find some artsyletters offerings at the BEAUTIFUL Beaufort Emporium & Dry Goods Company on Bay Street!

Check out my table on the left after you walk in, and be sure to peruse the variety of gifts, souvenirs, and special treasures all around.  Friendly folks and classy gifts!

I’m honored to have some items there, including some new local-themed goodies such as upcycled and handmade journals, magnets, key rings and bookmarks featuring hand-aged images from antique South Carolina maps. (Listing similar items in my Etsy shop in coming days!)

Enjoy Water Festival Week, whether you’re here in town or just here in spirit!
